Summary (AI)
Patch 1.0.1 for Summa Expeditionis improves soldier behavior and AI during combat, with troops now actively finishing off enemies, staying close to the player, and instantly joining formations when an alarm is sounded. Orders such as formation, attack, and gathering supplies now apply to the entire column rather than just the first contubernium, and camp management has been updated so the whole unit sets up and breaks camp together. Several bug fixes address NPC movement issues, clothing assignment, production interface errors, and camp zone display. Additionally, a new option allows returning soldiers directly to the legion, and recruiting mechanics have been refined to prevent assignment problems with full contubernia.
Tip: expand all for quick scanning.
- When you order an attack outside the camp, soldiers now chase down and finish off the enemy. Before, they would hesitate — closing in without actually fighting.
- When a battle ends, they return to formation running, not walking.
- During combat they no longer march off to an old spot: they stay with you even as you move.
- When you sound the alarm, the men join the formation instantly — they drop whatever they were carrying on the spot instead of calmly hauling it back to storage first.
- When you give the make camp order, the entire column sets up the same temporary camp (previously only the first one camped).
- When you break camp, everyone goes back to following their leader.
- Repaired some molds that weren't producing results.
- Better movement: Your character now naturally turns their body into attacks when striking to the side or behind while standing still.
- Consistent aiming: The torso now reliably follows your combat intent instead of randomly resetting.
- Attacking while running: Attack intent now takes priority during movement, meaning your combat posture behaves much better while running.
