Open →Patch 1.1 for Europa Universalis V introduces several gameplay adjustments, including a yearly reduction in the Golden Bull's cost until it becomes free in 1377. AI behavior within the Holy Roman Empire has been adjusted to prevent no-CB wars between members, and increased antagonism penalties have been applied for land seizures both inside and outside the HRE. The AI's general aggressiveness has been toned down with more balanced war frequency settings, and new game rules allow players to customize AI behavior further. Additional features include improved tech tree updates without restarting campaigns, new Cabinet Actions to manage estate satisfaction, options for unit autobalance templates, and expanded diplomatic and peace treaty options, such as transferring subjects and taking maps in treaties. Fleet management has been made easier with an auto-escape function during war, and rebel uprisings can now be triggered on demand via a legitimacy cost.
